Periodental Therapy
Severe gum diseases due to ageing, drugs, or any other underlying medical condition like diabetes mellitus, pregnancy, aggressive periodontitis, or any habits like smoking or chewing tobacco may cause generalised sensitivity and must thereby be treated by periodontal surgery after careful evaluation and considering a predictable prognosis
Extraction
Any tooth damaged beyond restoration with weak tooth structure that cannot be restored by using any other aid such as posts or crown lengthening; or any tooth with split root or massive peri-apical lesion, or a teeth with severe loss of supporting tissue around it, should be concluded to be extracted, provided they are supplemented and replaced with a prosthesis.
Medication
Dental caries is an irreversible alteration in the tooth structure and cannot be treated by medicine. But to an extend it can be symptomatically treated for pain and swelling by using antibiotic and painkillers . in cases where the treatment has to be delayed In a patient due to any underlying diseases or medication, pain has to be managed by drug regime.
